Scenario

Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a play to take over the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they became the character during the production of “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to have the Penguin’s version of The Batman (2022) smoke tobacco, but it didn’t work out. However, for his own series, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user, with a preference for cigars.

logo. Featured in Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). The first episode is a direct sequel to Matt Reeves’ film Batman and I imagine those who haven’t seen the latter will be a bit lost.

As in The Batman, Colin Farrell does an excellent job portraying the Penguin as a stereotypical mobster

But I watched The Batman a while back and this show did an admirable job of quickly re-familiarizing me with where the movie left off without getting bogged down in a didactic recap. It also beautifully recaps the film’s aesthetic and somber tone, though the series has far more moments of sly levity than the film. ;street guy:" rough, profane, mercurial and quick to violence; but also clever, cunning and able to read people.

But so far it’s off to a great start

The character may have absolutely nothing to do with the comic book version, but he’s interesting in his own right. and I don’t know if the Penguin’s machinations will be enough to sustain a full season.
