Idris Elba would have been a better and more likable character

For a supposedly highly intelligent character with a PhD in psychology, Cross came across as a fraud at times, and the character he presented lacked credibility. His big-eyed stares and inability to interact with his family were completely out of character for the character he was supposed to be portraying.

Don’t try to compare it with the picture you got of the cross when you read the book
